    [Q] How to get product key on Free Upgraded Windows 10 system


    I had a Windows 7 Ultimate PC which I had upgraded to Windows 10. But, now I am trying to sell the Windows 10 key on my system as I am planning to use Ubuntu fulltime. But, when I tried with Produkey and other softwares, I am not able to get the product key as the one I am being provided with is the generic key for free upgraded systems - VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T.

    Now, can anyone tell me if there's a way I could sell my Windows 10 key as the above mentioned key doesn't work on any other systems even after "slui 4" trick.

    The free upgrade offer for Windows 7 / 8.1 users clearly stated that Windows 10 license was granted to that computer you used to upgrade, for the lifetime of that device. That license would not work on other computers, you cannot sell it.

    If you want to make some money with your Windows 10 license you'll need to sell the computer it is currently installed on. License is not tied to user, only to that computer.
