Windows 10 Driver Updates - GPO disabled - Avd. Setting but still on

    Hi there,

I saw a simliar older thread to this topic. But I thought maybe it also has something to do with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update which was not out back then.

So what I have done so far is in my Hyper-V deployment VM turn off the Driver Updates in Windows Update according to https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4...dows-10-a.html option one. Which we can see here:

I also did the thingy on system -> Adv. Settings -> Hardware. But it seams different on Windows 10 Anniversary Update as you see here (sorry for the german):

But if I take this perfect image put it on my Workstation Notebook. First time Windows Update runs it downloads all the drivers... That's not really the point of doing that... And especially if you have some special hardware...

What would happen if I disable Windows Update -> Install the drivers myself -> Enable Windows Update? Would It overwrite my drivers?

    Thanks for your help

    Cheers,
    Yves

No that would be OK. Also if you have the drivers already available to you, you could bring up the image with no network connection active, then update the drivers, and then turn the network loose. If all the drivers are already current, there'll be no need for WU to supply anything new.
