Cannot install Windows 10 anniversary update

    Hello all,

Need some help... I had Windows 7 Ultimate on my pc then, I got the free copy of Windows 10 per Microsoft.
My system now is Windows 10 Pro version 1511 OS build (10586.633)
The anniversary update fails every time..... things that I have tried:
    completely pause (stop) Norton Anti-virus
    completely pause (stop) Malwarebytes
    Clean boot

I build this pc about 5 yrs ago, never had a problem; here are the specs:

    Intel i7 CPU 930 @ 3.0 ghz
    12gb DDR3
    Windows 64 bit
256 gb SSD drive for OS
    2 tb drive for data

    Any help will be appreciated;

    Thanks

Here is an in-depth analysis of the upgrade process and how to understand and correct such errors. As it happens, yours is the error they chose to use as a worked example...

    Analyze log files

To analyze Windows Setup log files:

    1. Determine the Windows Setup error code.
    2. Based on the extend code portion of the error code, determine the type and location of a log files to investigate....

...For example, assume that the error code for an error is 0x8007042B - 0x2000D. Searching for "8007042B" reveals the following content from the setuperr.log file...

...This analysis indicates that the Windows upgrade error can be resolved by deleting the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\S-1-5-18[CN] file.

Your error is no doubt down to a corrupt file (not necessarily the one above). The methods in the above analysis example should help you locate your corrupt file(s) and remove/replace them.
