Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607

    Failed to install,
I have tried several times , but each time msg appears
failed to update, and system undoes changes .
    First time for me this
( several occasions over the years have led to me needing to
reinstall updates, but this one is pretty unforgiving )

I need a trick to start the whole process from scratch I think
    but how?
Can't restore to a previous version as option no longer available

I had that also with this update.
So here is what I did to get over it.
I restarted it then ran the Disc Clean Up app
Which cleared all traces from the Disc
Then let it download and install, which took some time
Then it installed to 30% then Restarted then finished at 100%
Which again sat there for some time then flashed up it had finished and now running all ok on all my systems
Hope that may hopefully help you with your problem
Let us know how you get on
The one thing I found with this one, you cant rush it

that's a great idea, I presume you mean also to to add clean up system files
as there is that option also in disk clean up.
Be back and tell you how it went
    Thanks

Remember, you have to click the 'clean system files' button (or run Clean-up as Administrator) in order to clean up the windows updates.

I routinely run disk clean-up. I have no problems with update.

Didn't work guys, so I've opted for a reset, keeping files
Need a clean out ready for the new term ( student )
all those gaming gremlins and apps will be gone-gone-gone

On a side note my wee asus X205TA took the new windows 1607 happily 1st time
so its my PC , playing up ( also 1st time as previous build went through ok )
