Updating since 08/19/16

I have not used my Win 10 Laptopn since August 19, 2016 and coincidentally have a Paragon Backup of the computer on that date. Today, I fired it up and of course wound up with a update. After the update cycle Winver shows version 15111 O
S build 10586.494. Does that sound right? And, does that include the "Aniversary Edition?"

From what I read around the web, the Anniversary Edition is maybe not the most desirable. I don't mind at all restoring the computer to the 8/19 date and this time deferring updates.

I would like to hear some thoughts on this.

You haven't got the Anniversary Update yet. It is being offered through windows update in phases. It may well be that it's just not your turn yet. When it is, it will appear when you check for updates as 'Features update for Windows 10, version 1607'. More details on the AU (including how to get it manually if you can't wait) can be found here:

There's no rush though, your 1511 will still be getting all the latest security updates, In fact, MS are still issuing updates for the original 10240 version too. See the Windows 10 update history here...
