"Getting Windows ready / Don't turn off.." >20 min, but no new updates

Around 9:10, I told my desktop computer to shutdown. It went to a "Getting Windows ready / Don't turn off your computer"

At 9:33, it was still going with no progress update, and it suddenly turned off. When I turned it back on, there were no new updates installed.

It's done something like this at least once before. Any clue why it takes so long with no status updates. I don't recall my laptop ever doing this.

The issue was when I restarted, the Windows Update update history registered no new updates installed.

Do you know what the update was? If it was the AU it won't show any updates until the first update after the AU upgrade. Or at least that's been my experience on all my computers.

It was not the AU, I got the AU a long time ago.
