    Where did that come from? Do you have these cloudflare DNS servers on your NIC?
    Go into your NIC properties for IPv4 and IPv6 and change them to Google DNS servers - see if that doesn't speed up your internet. Put them in your router too, if you have that option.

    Google Public DNS operates recursive name servers for public use at the following IP addresses:
    8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for IPv4
    2001:4860:4860::8888 and 2001:4860:4860::8844, for IPv6
    OK. I added it into my network settings. Doesn't seem to have made a difference. The weird thing is it was doing that before, then stopped probably when I was doing all the messing around with different settings and whatnot. Then it came back immediately after the "UPGRADE". LOL. I could probably add into my router but is it really going to make a difference? It seems that its coming locally from the computer. I guess at the end of the day I just want everything to work. If this is a hardware related issue, how do I determine the problem so I can replace it?

    EDIT: Alright, alright. After my temper tantrum I decided to figure out the router settings. It did help. Now my internet is ticking along smoothly at least.

    OH MY GOODNESS, I just did a check to see if Windows Update would maybe work after doing that. It's working. I'm closing up my computer! I'll keep you posted. I'm gonna try installing Microsoft Office

    Have you checked in Device manager to see if you have a bang again on the wifi adapter? If so, download the driver, go into Device Manager and delete the Atheros wifi adapter and check the box to delete the driver along with it. Then reinstall the driver just downloaded.
    Download Qualcomm Atheros wireless driver for AR946x and 64bit Windows 10

    And Defender is throwing an error.... That's what you're using for AV right?
    Download and run MBAR to check for rootkits. I've seen that detection in ADWCleaner (C:\END) but can't recall off hand what it was from.
    You reset all your browsers right?
    Please run this as well:

    JRT
    TempFile Cleaner
    Ccleaner - run on browsers and clean out temp + cache, then run on registry

    Open an admin command prompt and type
    Code:
    ipconfig /flushdns
    Please post the logs for the above scans in a code box.

    Check also for updates to your bluetooth, as this can affect the wifi performance. Might even try disabling BT to see if it makes a difference.

    If, after all this, you can plug an ethernet cable into your wired NIC, and access Windows Update, and the speed is good, then maybe the wireless card is failing?

    Awesome Simrick! I appreciate all your help. I'm going to do all of that and post the logs as requested, but just so you have the entire picture, with this system I only connect to the internet with an Ethernet connection. I have the option to connect wirelessly but I've only tried it a few times, I like the stability of the wired connection alot better though. I had seen you mention that before and I forgot to tell you so I just want to make sure you have the full picture. Also, I should have mentioned that the Defender error went away with the in-place update. The install of microsoft office worked, so that makes me happy. Things seem to be coming around, but there are still a few hiccups.

    I posted earlier that Windows update was working, but I think I jumped the gun a bit. It installed a few updates then started searching again and it came up with that error message again. But at least it found something. Haha, that's the best it's done in weeks. LOL. Anyhow, I'll post again soon with the progress report.

    Oh no. Maybe my optimism was a little premature. I'm getting this again after doing all those steps;

    I don't seem to have logs for all these programs, so I will post what I can. Now, just for the record for the last 3 years I have been using a program called ASO3. I'm actually paying for it and it's never given me issues before but it has been picked up a few times as "malware" or whatever. I really believe in the software and it's always worked great for me, so I re-installed it after the In-Place update as I thought it might fix that stupid cloudflare internet thing I noted above. If you know this is utter garbage and malware I won't use it, but I have been paying for it and I don't have any reason not to trust it other that what these malware programs say. I just wanted to say that before you read the first log;

    Okay thanks. I misunderstood and thought you were connecting with wireless.
    And the Defender error is gone now - that's good to know.
    Office is installed - we're making progress.

    So where are we now? Type winver and give me the version screenshot please. Then also a screenshot of Windows Update failure code. (Note: don't include the "registered to" portion in your winver screenshot.)

    Not everything had logs...thanks. I will go over them a little later, as I will be AFK for a bit.

    System optimizers are not necessary with W10, and tend to do more harm than good. I would undue everything it's done, and uninstall it. Could be it is part of the problem.

    Please put the Google DNS server addresses back in the NICs - both wired and wireless.
    Try Windows Update again, once with each NIC, and see if it works with one or the other.

    Here is the info on running MBAR; scroll down to the bit that tells you where to find the logs - unless, of course, you know for sure it didn't find anything. :)
    Thanks.

    Just FYI:
    Their boot optimization sasnative64.exe

    Malware scan of sasnative64.exe 0ce2ac508a8487ebeee068fe516a4e9bf49fefa2 - Reason Core Security Labs

    Malware scan of sasnative64.exe 8ec6d000b4a74ed93070c12ca5778a7f3f446e71 - herdProtect

    Their roboot64.exe:

    Malware scan of roboot64.exe (PC Performer) b895750cd8da172165aec7583fb543af2c7e80b7 - herdProtect

    When you see this cloudflare data transfer, what sites are you on? Do they have a CAPTCHA loading?
    Are you using a VPN when this happens?
    Why do I see a captcha or challenge page (Attention Required) trying to visit a site protected by CloudFlare as a site visitor? CloudFlare Support

    In Device Manager, right-click the wired NIC and select check for updates, and then automatically search online for a driver - see if anything comes up.

    I'll wait to hear from you on how it goes with the NICs and WU. We may need to run the system file checker once ASO3 is gone. Then, reset Windows Update.

    Okay thanks. Please upload the winver screenshot again, as it appears it didn't work correctly for some reason.
    Also, can you have a look and see if there are windows updates that have failed? Maybe we can grab one or two manually to give things a kick-start.

    Aso3 removed -- used restore point to roll back prior to install

    OK. So I took your advice and fully removed ASO3 (in a roundabout way, I cleared it out with AdwCleaner, and then deleted the registry entries with CCleaner), but that wasn't the only reason I did the rollback. After running all those checkers the first time around (specifically CCleaner), I think I went a bit overboard with the cleanup and it messed stuff up.

    When I was trying to write my message yesterday, using anything regarding any windonws "Settings" was either not working or VERY VERY VERY slow. Once I rolled it back (using a restore point), I reset the DNS settings as recommended for both the WIFI and ETHERNET adapters. I then tried Windows update. I disabled 1 device and tried the update with either the WiFi or Ethernet exclusively. Both worked. They updated beautifully. Check my winver below.
    Can't update Windows 10 Anniversary-winver.png

    Also, this little issue seemed to have disappeared.
    Can't update Windows 10 Anniversary-why-all-time..png

    But, I decided that I would be cautiously optimistic and see how things went for 24/48 hrs before getting ahead of myself because these issues keep recurring. It worked great last night, and most of the day, then about 2hrs ago, this started popping up again;
    Can't update Windows 10 Anniversary-why-all-time..png

    Becauase I started seeing that again, I decided to experiment again with the 2 network adapters and test the Window update again. I should mention, I did check the Atheros driver, its installed correctly, no issues there. This is what happened with Windows update. Screen shots below, one using each adapters.

    The good news, at least it's finding updates. Now I realize this could possibly just be something specific with this update. But I thought I should point it out. You asked to see a list of the updates, check it out;

    Can't update Windows 10 Anniversary-updates.png

    Next, I re-ran all those programs. Thanks for showing me those. I will definitely utilize them in the future. I have attached the new logs below for your perusal;

    Next, I really want to get to the bottom of this "Transfering data from CDJNS.CLOUDFLARE.COM". When it comes up, it's not happening on every site, it almost seems to happen randomly sometimes but when it's happening, this website is one of the ones constantly plagued by it. I have a picture below;

    Can't update Windows 10 Anniversary-internet_issues.png

    Now, I just remembered about the "ipconfig /flushdns" command.
    I just ran that, and the issue is gone again. Coincidence? Maybe. Last time i tried it, nothing had changed. I don't get why this is happening at all. Could this have something to do with my ISP? I use a pretty major provider though and I don't think they would be doing anything bizarre like that, but who know's, I'm just guessing.

    Once more thing, I just used the System file Checker to see if anythings missing. See below;

    On another note, thanks Simrick for taking all this time to help me, and everyone else that has contributed to this thread. I truly appreciate it. I'm learning alot and it's inspring me to learn alot more about this kind of stuff. Thanks!

    Glad you got rid of ASO3.
    You're system updated and both adapters are working! Great!

    Good detective work!

    So, you're saying that this cloudflare even comes up when on tenforums? and flushing the DNS got rid of it? Did Windows Update work then, after you flushed the DNS cache?

    If not, can you open Windows Defender and try to update the definitions that way; see if it works?

    Please go into Ccleaner>Tools>Uninstall, and export the list of installed programs; post it here.

    What browser are you using? Can you install NoScript addon?
