Oh well... here goes... I have powered up tonight and it has installed the Samsung update and is currently up to 70% of "preparing to install" the AU 1607 update... FINGERS CROSSED and everything else crossed....

    Stay tuned....

    So far 87% following restart....

    Errrr 96%....

    Restarted.... working on updates 5%

Aarrrrrgggggg....Starting to sweat and panic now... lol

Keep calm, mate, and carry on.

The update on my PC took almost 3 hours, between "Preparing to Install" (i.e., Creating a System Restore Point), "Working on Updates", and "Updating".

Well.... it took about an hour but I now have AU 1607 running... finger crossed all will be OK...

I have noticed I now have 2 folders... "windows.old" which I was not expecting and a "default.migrated" in the user folder... Is that correct? I presume windows.old is in case I want to go back to 1511?

See how it goes now... hopefully all OK :)

I do like the new start menu when you select all apps... well I hope it is supposed to do that Lol and I must say I like how the action centre has moved to the right of the clock... Did not think I would having read about it, but looks OK...

Right click on taskbar, select ink option.

Thank you, I will take a look when I use it tonight...I must admit I did ckick on the task bar to open task manager and did not see it in the list unless I missed it? :)

I have just read a couple of site which mention it is only visible if your hardware supports it...

What would you need? maybe my notebook is not compatible?

I have read this"Ten forums" guide Windows Ink Workspace Button - Hide or Show on Taskbar in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

Maybe because mine does not have an active pen?

Also is it correct I should now have two new folders... "windows.old" on the "C:" drive and "default.migrated" in the "User" folder?

I presume the "windows.old" can be removed once I know all is OK with the "AU" update?

Final question my backup from the media creation tool is for v1511 do I need to re-download now for v1607?

Hopefully it will still be OK when I get home tonight lol

Windows.old is basically a large file that allows a user to roll back to the previous build of Windows 10. Don't worry about manually deleting it (I think it's not as simple as right click and delete). After 10 days it will self delete so long as you give the PC a little bit of idle time. So basically you have 10 days to roll back should the need arise and after that MS deems your happy with the latest build!

Thank you all for the replies and help... I have found the Windows Ink button now... :)

I guessed the new folders were to do with the change to AU, but I did not know they self deleted :)

    So far so good....
