A Windows Update Advanced Option is Greyed Out

The option "Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows" is off and greyed out since I did the Anniversary update. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Unfortunately it did not work. Thanks for trying to help. I've been banging my head against this problem all morning. I'm about ready to just wipe it all out and start again. Either that or throw the whole damn thing out the window and watch it burn.

If you go to Privacy settings, can you confirm you don't see 'Some settings are managed...'

Also check thru the relevant Group policy settings and make sure nothing looks amiss as far as you can

Well now. I do indeed see that. But I haven't set any custom group policy settings. So where would that be coming from?

Hi, usually from either manual changes to some privacy settings, or using a utility like Spybot Anti-beacon.

To (probably) fix that, download install that, run it, click 'Undo'. I found I had to be pretty determined to get that to 'stick', but all has been well for a long time.

Can't guarantee that's related to the update being greyed out- more likely some other setting, but try it. Good luck.

I appreciate you trying. I really do. I'm just going to restore from my Sunday backup (before the upgrade) and defer upgrades for awhile. Maybe after a few patches things will be different. I just don't want to be dealing with this anymore this weekend.

Mine's greyed out but only in 1 of my systems which is rather bizarre.
I see nothing directly related to that in GPEdit.
