How can i activate windows 10 without product key?

I upgraded my laptop from 8.1 to 10 for free, but since it lags a downloaded the iso again then perform a clean install however as i install it it requires product key so i just skip it since i don't know it, i thought it would automatically activated just like in upgrading but no, it stays not activated. Anyone?

Hi @Load, welcome to the forums! :)

If you don't have the 8.1 product key, you're going to have to fully perform the upgrade.

If you need to find your key, try looking at this. It should help you.

Are you sure you upgraded to the same edition? If your Windows 8.1 was a single language version, and you updated with a multiple language version, then it won't activate without a new key. Same if you went from home to pro, or vice versa.

and @Load, if you click on the product keys in the result windows to blank them out, and then post the results here we can probably tell you what is wrong.

Sounds like a version miss match. As NavyLCDR said, a showkey screen shot should help us sort it out. Don't forget to blank them out, we only need to see the last 5 digits.

Do i still get August major update if my windows 10 isn't activated?

When I upgrade to windows 10 from 8.1 in my new laptop it lags so I clean install it however it is not activated yet after clean installing it, I've tried softwares that can see product key but all it gives nothing, I mean blank. Probably it was been deleted after I format and deleted all the partition of my HDD. So yes, can I still get the update? or not?

Probably, but it won't activate either. We gave you the suggestion of what you need to do to help us diagnose your problem. Post the screenshot of showkey results so we can further diagnose what happened.
