Windows 10: Strategy and Settings for overnight Windows 10 updates
Windows 10 restart for updates?
I need to get Windows updates at night on a fair number of computers.
So, I figure I'll use gpedit to set automatic updating to Auto download and schedule the install and set the install at Every day at 3:00 am.
But, I see that there is also a mechanism to cause a restart and I'm not sure I need this at all. Won't doing updates cause a restart anyway if needed?

Has there been a major update? Can't find any info. My PC this morning looks as though windows 11 had=s been installed. Dektop icons all gone, all settings back to how MS want them (cortan and edge crap back on task bar). Have done system restore...
I'm running Win10 Home 1511 and I see that the option "Give me updates for other Msoft products...." is checked cannot be unchecked. I don't it was that way before the 1511 update - was it? And what exactly does it do anyway, aren't all Msoft apps...

Am I the only one annoyed by Windows (despite saying so when upgrading) does not retain certain personal settings, such as folder view settings (it keeps them on a top level but totally ignores them for some and sub folders) and the desktop image...
