New upgrade Windows 10 on ASUS SonicMaster won't boot

    Hi,

I could really use some advice here. I recently upgraded a laptop from 8.1 to 10 after restoring the equipment to factory settings (basically starting with a clean laptop). All went well. System booted without difficulty and I was in. Everything was going very well, and running better than I had expected. Then the trouble began when I went to do a restart.

The equipment went into its restart cycle, went to the ASUS boot screen (i.e. "ASUS Inspiring Innovation Persistent Perfection") with the fan turning away. I let it run this way for about 10 minutes, then did a hard power down, waited a half a minute and powered up. The problem persisted. I repeated this a bunch of times, until I got the bright idea of pulling the plug on my AOC external monitor and wireless Logitech keyboard/mouse. This time it booted without delay.

I do't want to have to unplug everything and plug it back in every time a restart is called for, so if someone has any words of wisdom, I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    Nat (NKK)

I have just narrowed down the problem to a USB hub. Basically, I attempted restarts in various HW configurations, and found that Windows 10 does not like my generic USB hub from Staples... Go figure! Does anyone have an idea why?

Don't really know why it isn't liking you USB hub, but as a solution you might try turning off Windows 10 Fast Startup:
