    win 10 not updating

I have Windows 10 (and 10 only) on a spare computer. The last couple of weeks when I turn it on, a message pops up that says, "Install a new build of Windows Now" I then follow the instructions which takes me to "Check now". When I click on that it always says, "We found new updates and will install them for you soon." But that's as far as I can get and I haven't got the updates yet.

What build number are you running? Some of the older builds are expiring. Best way to proceed is to download a newer build.and install it. You have a pc with 10 only on it. Not much chance of messing up.Download Windows 10 Technical Preview - Windows 10 Forums

Maybe you must do a clean install of a newer build. 10049 is the latest official build as far as I know.

Are you using a wireless metered connection? If so, Windows won't update over a metered connection by default...
