Windows Defender Update Query

On first April my Update History show Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB22676602 (Definition 1.195.1311.0) successfully installed on 01/04/2015 (UK date settings!)
On second April my Update History show Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB22676602 (Definition 1.195.1364.0) filed to install on 02/04/2015
Does the change between version 1311 and 1364 matter?

Yes. MS releases updates to defender definitions every day at least. If you don't have latest version you are missing definitions of new malware. My latest is 1364 (successfully installed today).

Try to run Windows update again and see if it works or if it gives any error message.

When I went back into history, version 1421 was successfully installed, as was 1311, but 1364 failed. However I assume the higher number includes the definitions in the lower.

I checked again - I now have 1441. Anyway as long as you have a higher one installed the failed one (with earlier number) doesn't matter.

adamf; in regards to defender updates I have one that is stopped at 38% is there anyway to restart or delete it. I also went back in the list of updates and see that all of them for intel have failed.

adamf so as usual if I would have waited Retry finally appeared.
