Alpha, just wondering. Since Win 10 is using generic key and drivers after installation, isn't it faster if you just clone the one from laptop instead of doing 2 separate upgrades? I haven't done it myself by I am just wondering if it will work. But I read a post here recently that one member did it that way and it worked for him.
Well, it doesn't solve the upgrade issue but just a workaround. :)
I'm done with trying to install it on the Dell. I'm trying to clean install 10041. I got to where you enter your live ID to log in. Enter it all in, click next, then it asks me to Create an accounton this PC? WTF? I type in Kerry and my password and it tells me "Please type in a different user name". I didn't have this issue the first time around. Windows 7 is going back on it for now. I've run out of patience with Windows 10.
I accidentally found a way around that issue of "enter a different user name". At that screen, stop! Leave it there and go to account settings. Under app and web site accounts, REMOVE the MS account. Immediately reboot. It has no where else to go, so it starts up under the local account you had!
