The link to the ISO download is here, https://www.tenforums.com/windows-10-...l-preview.html, That should lead you here, http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...so-update-1503.

EDIT: Ops looks like that's 10041 not 10049, sorry. Haven't finished my first cup of coffee yet. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Hehehehe, I already knew that because the ISO will only come with the Slow Ring. :)

BTW, I downloaded and installed the ISO when it was released and Windows Update was changed to Slow Ring. There must be something that alerts the "script" that I changed from Fast Ring to Slow Ring.

Edit: So I changed it back to Fast Ring and 10049 was offered up!

I'll take a clean install over an upgrade install any month with a week in it.
Whew! I were aginnin' to thank I were in da vastness of minority thar fer a bit! :)

If there's anything really nasty in the "original" chances are that it will be brought forward with the "update".

Read some posts here and you'll see a pattern. Several people posted having issues after doing and upgrade install. When they did a clean install, no such issues. Some weren't able to do the upgrade install at all. Plus, if you've tweaked your system with unofficial mods or reg entries it can cause issues. If I can do a clean install I will. I don't mind taking the time to do it.

I normally just do the update. If I want to keep my current OS or if I'm having a problem I'll do a clean install. I just did a clean install of build 10041 because I was trying a few things and broke the install of 10041 I was using by using system Restore. If I knew a new build was that close to being released I would have waited and done a clean install of 10049.

I normally do clean install too on each build. But on the last 2 builds you have to do online upgrade first before getting access to ISO(self made) so I just hold off the clean installation until I notice significant issues. I almost clean installed 10041 the other day but good thing I didn't cuz 10049 came out the next day (yesterday) which I have the ISO ready too.

Is it not somewhat counterproductive to tweak unofficial mods and the registry.?
This system is after all only a technical preview evaluation with M$ for the first time listening to users.
Better to suggest ways of improving the present concept, or helping to sort out any bugs in this latest update.

I've had a problem with Build 10041 getting onto the Internet. When I gave feedback, there were numerous feedback posts saying IE wasn't working right and also that there's a problem getting to the Internet. I mean a whole bunch of 'em!

Depending on what the problem actually is with Build 10041, it could be that the Update didn't cure it because I'm still having real problems getting onto the Internet. So, a clean install is in order, if for no other reason than to eliminate the update's failure to cure the problem.

Several folks have had problems with the Start Menu not working and in at least one instance, the problem is still there in Build 10049. Again, if for no other reason . . .

Mmmmm, maybe; maybe not. Some folks want to push things to the limit, just to see if they can get away with it. And, as you say . . .

So why not push the envelop a bit. I would if I knew how, but I don't.

with M$ for the first time listening to users
Not so, not so . . . I've been on many Microsoft betas and I can tell you Microsoft has always listened . . . they just haven't always done what we've told them we want. But for the most part, they do listen and follow through with the best practice.

Yeah, to an extent. However, why not: Here's how I tweaked it and this is the result of that tweak. Yes, there are quite a few experienced and skillful programmers within the Insider group who can get that type of job done.
