Add Windows Update back to Control Panel in Windows 10

How to Add Windows Update back to Control Panel in Windows 10

Is the above link still available? When I click on it I get a page that says:
Crashed, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

    1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
    2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Still using 9926, and would like to add updates back to control panel, if it's still doable.

Wait till Brink answers, but I would guess they've turned it off for now because since the latest build the "hack is not possible, so they're waiting to see if it's possible in future builds(which I believe won't happen).

    Hello Crashed,

    Note   Note
This will no longer work in Windows 10.

Windows Update is deprecated in the Control Panel, and is only available in Settings now.

That tutorial has been removed and retired since it no longer works in Windows 10 build 10041. Add Windows Update to the control panel in that build will break Windows Update.

To add Windows Update to the Control Panel for 9926 build.

    Add_Windows_Update_to_Control_Panel.reg

If you need to remove Windows Update from the Control Panel later, then you can do so with the .reg file below from that tutorial to restore default settings.

    Remove_Windows_Update_from_Control_Panel.reg

Just another reason to stay clear of the 10041 build. This was a fix for problems caused by the ATI/AMD graphics update forced upon us.
