    New Hdd windows 10 wont activate


    Hi guys. I just replace my hdd after the old one fail on me.The old hdd was window 7 upgraded to 10 and was also activate,i also made, a usb w10 back up too.(call me noobie )I needed up using the back up usb to install window 10 and also the old w10 cd key on the hdd to get it going .It works ,but the it wont activate...Is it because i never use a recovery disk,can i undo this??..Also i only have a local disk (c)...Chers

    Right click on the start icon, select Command Prompt (Admin). Run:
    slmgr /dlv
    Post the results here. Also press Win+R keys on keyboard to open a run dialog. Run:
    winver
    Post the results here. We can help troubleshoot your activation problems with those results.

    The last one was,just a Window 10 logo and microsoft window.Version 10.0 (Build 10240) so on ..

    You should run slmgr /dlv from command prompt to get the result.

    Anyway I think you need to change the key to this one *****-*****-DKB77-7M9GH-8HVX7 (Not sure if we are allowed to post these - so google the rest)

    That's what I was thinking. From Command Prompt (Admin) run these commands:

    New Hdd windows 10 wont activate-capture3.jpg

    The results of slmgr /dlv should look like this:

    New Hdd windows 10 wont activate-capture.jpg

    Yep, that's the ticket - he probably has the old Build 10240 key anomaly.

    Sorry about that guys, i'm probably the least computer savvy person here...I'm amazing i even made it this far,with this computer.But anyway here the result......New Hdd windows 10 wont activate-screenshot-30_04_2016-2_21_42-am.pngThanks for the help guys really appreciate it
