Take the Windows 10 Script Update and.......

I am so sick of removing the arrogant, obnoxious Windows 10 script from my Wife's PC. After a month of trying to update
both my PC (8.1), and my wife's (7) and having it fail with the remarkable error message "Your update has failed", that I
would no longer waste so much of my time with the stupidest upgrade I have ever seen.

The general conception is that if you uninstall the script and then hide it, you will no longer see it come up. That itself is a total myth, as is performing a quick and easy upgrade. I have now, uninstalled and hid this Script too many times to remember. Even when uninstalled and hidden, each upgrade has it checked with important upgrades. My wife's updates process when she shuts her PC off, so naturally it again installs. On my PC, sometimes forgetting to check the humongous list of updates to Windows, on the assumption that this script would not be installed if hidden, I myself then have to uninstall and hide it once again.

Possibly it was Microsoft that created the Obamacare website.... which would explain a lot!!!!!!!!!

As far as I can see, your question is
'How can I completely and permanently block the upgrade to Windows 10?'

    Is that correct?

This may help- read past the first section to the guide.

    Still getting updates

Went through the instructions you linked me to, and as I mentioned, I have uninstalled KB3035583 from my "installed software" which is fine. However, with each update (even when hidden), I keep getting a Windows Update for this script. I just uncheck it as I have my 8.1 set to notify me only. However, on my wife's 7, since she needs to have it automatically installed (on shutdown), the script is continually in her taskbar, as it automatically updates it due to it being on just about every windows update notification.

If you still have problems, do a general search for
permanently disable windows 10 update notification
and look for current notes on this- I can't say what will work as I use win 10.

Note that as it's aproaching the end of the year's free upgrade, hopefully this will disappear anyway. (Or will MS promote a paid upgrade????)

No matter. When I decide to go 10, I will purchase it at $119 that their chat says will be a full version allowing a clean install on a separate partition with dual boot. It's worth this price, to not have to go through these forums.
