    Can't update to 1511

I have an old Dell Inspiron 1420 laptop. 2.5 g of RAM. Intel DuoCore. Runs Win 10 without difficulty. Did all updates until 1511 and then won't update. Goes through the procedures and stops halfway through. Tried it many times.

Ran SFC and it found no problems.

Tried Reinstalls but always returns to pre-1511 version.

Is there any way to download the most current version and install, or must you always install pre-1511 and update?

    Thanks,

    JS

Hi janesmith230 and welcome to Tenforums.

Yes, you can download the most recent General Release from MS TechBench, mount the ISO, and run setup.exe. It's basically the same procedure as an in-place upgrade.

Thank you for the assistance. I have downloaded the files and will try them out this evening. Will let you know if this solved the problem. So far, so good. Thanks, again. JS
