Windows Upgrade and Samsung RF510 notebook

Hi

Well I have tried all the things possible that everyone has suggested and no joy , my last resort is that I have now taken the wifi Broodcom card out of the laptop which was also suggested .
The computer works via the Ethernet cable as the moment , tried to upgrade to windows 10 again and no joy .
I have ordered a new card this is it , suggested again ! Atheros AR5B22 AR926X AR9462 Dual Band BT 4.0 Wireless WiFi MINI PCI-E Card .
Am I right in thinking that once this card goes in I will be able to upgrade to windows 10

No. Adding a new WiFi adapter will not cause Windows 10 to succeed when it failing before. Have you tried only the online upgrade method so far, or have you also tried upgrading from a downloaded ISO file?

Thanks. One of the reasons the upgrade fails is because there is not enough room in the system reserved partition. So, what I would do is install MiniTool Partition Wizard Free:
Best Free Partition Manager for Windows | MiniTool Partition Free

Shrink the C: drive partition by 400 MB - notice that is MegaBytes and not GigaBytes! Create the 400 MB free space in front of the C: drive partition. Expand the first System partition to 500 MB in size by extending the end of the partition in to the free space you created. Make sure to click the apply button in MiniTool Partition Wizard. The program will tell you it needs to reboot the computer because you are messing with the system partition. Let it reboot and do it's thing. Once the System partition at the front of the hard drive is 500mb in size, try doing the upgrade to Windows 10 again.

Hi I have got the software up and am not sure what I am doing , it has capacity used unused , which one do I change to 400mb and how do I do this ?

No. You created too much free space both before and after C: drive.

You want your C: drive resizing to look close to this. My middle number will be way different than yours because of difference in memory/hard drive size, but you want close to 400 in the top block and 0 in the bottom block. You might have to play around with adjusting the front of the partition, and then moving the entire partition to the right, and play with the up and down arrows next to the numbers. It might take some adjusting, but you will eventually get it.

Once you get that done, you can apply if you want to. Then you will resize the first System partition and just drag the right most border of it all the way to the right and end up with close to 500MB for the middle number and 0 for both the top and bottom numbers - again, for the System partition at the front of the disk. After you click apply and that resizes, you can try the Windows 10 upgrade again.

This will be your first step. Your System and C: drive partition will be different sizes than mine, but you should have the close too 400MB free space in between:



This will be what you want to end up with. About a 500MB System partition at the front:
