    Windows 7 Update

So I am a member of the Technical Preview program and have it running on a separate laptop but I am constantly being offered to install the Technical Preview on my main box which is running fine right now with Windows 7 Ultimate. I have found some solutions online where it said to uninstall a windows update and it will stop me from being prompted, which worked until I got some other Updates, and now I am being prompted to install again. I wouldn't mind if this wasn't my main PC. Anyone have any idea how I can not get prompted to do the update on my current setup?

    Thanks

You didn`t hide that update? You need to uncheck and hide it. (right click to hide)

And you don`t have updates set to automatic do you ?

I have no clue why MS is offering an update to a preview, it`s crazy.

    It is crazy !
I saw this mentioned a while ago - Win10 offered to Win7 installs through WU. Some people accepted it and ... well you know, time to roll back to windows.old or reinstall Win7.

I don't know what other folks did, but your advice is sound, Brian.

Hide the Win10 update offer (right click the update, select hide update)
Turn off automatic updates - choose notify only - run WU manually when notified
    - look at what WU offers before accepting everything.

The Win10TP is NOT being offered to everyone on Win7, its only going out to folks that signed up to get it. I know because I was getting no messages until I did the sign up. A couple days later, I had an update that I downloaded and installed. After I got it, I started getting the SysTray pop-up saying Win10 was ready to install.

If you guys didn't want to start getting the Win10 update message, maybe you shouldn't have signed up for it?

    Windows 10 Technical Preview

Thats all fine and dandy however no matter what I do, I did hide the update as suggested however the pop up still comes up.

Hiding the update does nothing. It stops the update notifications for awhile then they pop back up again. Not sure what to do at this point.

I think this should help you out with your problem:

    @ sparker781 :
Did you happen to run the 'Prepare your PC for Windows Technical Preview' Tool?
