I think you have the main point made! WHS That is precisely how people are feeling as far as being "violated" software to system wise by MS as far as what each user wants to see on their own personal machine not what MS dictates! Despite the apparent improvements in how go about updating this version alone by the smooth transition being seen from Insider to Insider or had been from Insider to TH2 or TH2 as just seen to 14257 builds someone had a "brain drain storm" at MS thinking this one up! Not any Brain Storming but "Total Brain Death Dept." being realized with this type of strategy.

The typical drawbacks with the early upgrades as well as continued upgrades from the previous versions isn't anything new but did result in one class action suit coming up in November with the typical complaints of not being able to open the Start menu or something in it like the AllApps as seen here with a laptop upgraded but also saw an immediate clean install to follow for the then 32bit 10 until afterwards once verifying the immediate clean install was activated went for the clean install of the 64bit 10 and then another to follow on a fresh primary when finding the OEM factory deal couldn't be shrunk down any to allow for a second backup partition! Windows 10 Users Considering Class Action Lawsuit Against Microsoft for Poor System Performance

The part that should urk you the most isn't the option being there but how files are already being unpacked onto the drive without your knowing since the image of the original single 7 drive was restored onto the new drive added in on that build which had been shut down right before New Years as the last check on updates showed 12./29 and then with the 2/4/16 check suddenly the 10 app is back and finding the temp BT, WS, and even one additional QT folder obvious for the revised 10 app bombshell are found where no folders should be literally on the drive! not waiting to be downloaded when user makes choice to hit the upgrade button! The BT should be renamed to "BS" from MS! as to how all too many would react!

That's considered bad policy making for any business to suddenly turn around and try jamming something new down people's throats using tactics like these to catch vulnerable users off guard! But then you have to look at who the new CEO is at MS these days as well to see who is trying to rethink everything?

On February 4, 2014, Ballmer retired as CEO and was succeeded by Satya Nadella; Ballmer resigned from the Board of Directors on August 19, 2014 to prepare for teaching a new class and for the start of the NBA season.
The rest of that is can be looked over at Steve Ballmer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Well you can cheer up now! huh? Read this please!!! You can now upgrade to Windows 3.1 WHO?!?!?!

The Internet Archive brings Windows 3.1 games to your browser

    Andy Chalk 5 hours ago

This is how we rolled back then. The Internet Archive, which brought nearly 2400 MS-DOS games to the convenience and comfort of your browser last summer, has expanded its collection with programs from the Windows 3.1 era, including more than 1000 games.

A lot of the games in the collection are shareware releases, which is why you see things like the Taipei exit message asking you to send five bucks to the author if you like the game. Much of it is proto-indie stuff you've never heard of, but there are some names in here you may recognize, too, like The Even More Incredible Machine, Sim Earth, American Civil War: From Sumter to Appomattox, Hoyle Solitaire, and even Out of This World, the Americanized version of the groundbreaking platformer Another World.

It's not what you'd call a tightly-packed collection of super-smash hits, and some of it is just silly—witness Trash, pictured, which is literally a (very amusing) “cheap shot” against the Apple Macintosh, a relic of the war before the Console Wars—but also a fun slice of history, from a time when Windows hadn't quite evolved into a full-blown operating system.

“The colorful and unique look of Windows 3/3.1 is a 16-bit window into what programs used to be like, and depending on the graphical whims of the programmers, could look futuristic or incredibly basic,” archivist Jason Scott wrote. “For many who might remember working in that environment, the view of the screenshots of some of the hosted programs will bring back long-forgotten memories.”

    Thanks, Gamasutra.
