The quick and easy as well as reviewing the guide there is simply to find the KB3035583 update in the Installed Updates list and see it uninstalled followed by a fresh check for updates when it should be right there again in the recommended updates! I have a clean install of Windows 10 running on a Dell Inspiron 537s. It has a Intel Core 2 Duo CPU. I have had zero problems with Windows 10 x64 Pro running on it.

Noght Hawk, there are actually around 16 KB updates associated with GWX for the Windows 10 upgrade.

Microsoft has defeated every attempt by the end users to not want to let the OS upgrade.

Haegeash, Windows 8 has severe memory management issues, along with SMB & NFS when browsing network shares.

You will find that Windows 10 handles memory management and progam management a whole lot better.

8 was an experiment gone wrong only corrected with 8.1 MS had to rush out when first trying to introduce a dual platform OS geared for both Mobile and Desktop platforms. The main beef besides the Metro replacing the all too well known and familiar Start menu was stripping just about everything else out of Windows when 8 first arrived. 8.1 then to come in a rush 1yr. later allowed the user to boot directly to the desktop along with some other fixes made as the continuation of the dual platform gradually was taking place. With 10 a great deal of that has been realized while there is always room for improvement!

As for the 10 app you no longer see the option of reserving but..


I've had suspicions about a few others like the "KB2952664" update that kept coming up without any details that I ended up hiding as well. Later that had been in the Hidden updates as well as the KB3035583. Besides the updates however that isn't the only thing you can take care of!



One item in the Local Group Policy Editor as outlined in the guide posted earlier as well as the option to add in a new registry value to disable the ability to upgrade into a newer version isn't something MS can't interfere with. The find of the temp install folders having been unpacked right onto the 7 drive as soon as the 10 app reappeared however was a bit irritating! But those may have been there for some time having restored an image of 7 onto a drive that was added in after the initial upgrade attempts had been seen. Later following the split of the first and original one drive only a clean install of 10 was seen to on a fresh single primary leaving 10 all by itself until finding there weren't even 8.1 drivers for a WiFi adapter used on to make the case portable.

Presently have a few friends running both 7 and 8.1 laptops plus having to have a 7 upgraded to 10 laptop replaced and glad they never had 8 on anything since 8.1 is working. The other is the 64bit 7 Pro someone doesn't want messed with by MS! ut ooooooo..... I was told "well you take care of it then!" when explaining it wasn't that hard to "get rid of" the 10 app hiding it in the next batch of updates as well as disabling the upgrade to newer version feature included in Windows when hearing that!

8 went wrong because Microsoft thougothat if they pushed a touch interface out. That the public would rush out and buy all new Laptops and monitors to allow them to use that feature.

The whole reason for 8 and the Metro Interface. Was to try and drive people towards the Surface tablets and the other manufacturers who have made the same type of tablet, to try and keep up with Apple and Google for the Android OS.

Right now Microsoft has Class Actions on them about Windows 10, Because people are whining that they were forced the OS upgrade, when that is not true.

The Surface RT still has a Class Action. The Surface 3 and 4, because of the high failure rate and Microsoft not even allowing customers to contact them about refunds or force customers another Surface that those who have chosen that option, ended up with the replacement failing not even 30 days after they get it.

The whole Xbox Live fiasco is getting worse. Microsoft is locking accounts without prior notice. Also you have a lot of accounts that have been hacked and Microsoft will not even investigate into the matter.

The only machine in my house that is loaded with Windows 10 in my house. Is a Desktop that pretty much just sits and collects dust. Both laptops in my house run Linux Mint. The Raspberry Pi 2 that I have for doing Home Brew Computer stuff with. It is running Ubuntu Mate.

The alleged fiasco about updates was simply those coming in already checked off along with the rest. It still took user interaction to end up seeing the upgrade take place however since the less experienced automatically assumed them to be "just another update" when in fact it was them who clicked the button. MS had a way out there!

With the change seen on the 1st of the month however the option to reserve was replaced with two upgrade buttons many will click on likely choosing the delay upgrade until later button rather then simply clicking on the "X" to close in the upper right hand corner as seen with just about every other window that could be seen! That still takes user interaction there too! Someone at the pc end of the deal still needs to click on one of those two buttons for it to happen.

Granted how MS has been going about things like finding the temp install folders already unpacked onto the drive was a bit annoying especially after already having followed the steps in the guide for both removing and hiding the 10 app from the ongoing updates as well as the new registry entry and even change made in the Local Group Policy Editor to prevent that from happening the files were still found.

The registry entry and Group Policy setting were still found unchanged however which would still prevent the upgrade from happening anyways. 8 had been a flop there without a doubt and I was never impressed by Android as well as for Surface not having any interest in embedded type OSs to begin with! At least in past years Netbooks saw the flexibility as far as OS adjustments and fresh installs compared to being stuck with whatever comes with it! And the IPhone tale is another trip in itself. "Got to have the next one that comes out right away!" with lines at stores reaching out into traffic?! That's more of a cultural obsession then any practicality as well.

As for any thing with live accounts you can get trashed by Steam as well as MS or anyone else real fast. When going to contact Steam when that was first seen I didn't have a jpeg for a product key right onhand to upload and saw the first account closed up on a dime. I should mail in some chopped up Steam games disks in protest but haven't done that yet figuring this would be seen with more sources over time. These companies would then have the ability to manipulate the softwares you use!
