    windows 10 automatic updates

I have disabled windows 10 feature to maintenance/install updates when the user is idle to prevent booting up my pc in the middle of the night. It seems that this led to the problem that windows 10 doesn't update automatically at all. Every time i have to search manually for new updates. That's very annoying because i want Windows to just install new updates as soon as possible. What can i do?

I've investigated a bit more into my problem and i have found out that on Windows 10 Home Edition it's not possible to activate notifications when updates are prompted through Group Policy Editor. That's really bad news for me.

Yes, i already read this article, maybe i'm gonna buy a Win10 Pro license to get the Group Policy Editor.....

I had set my update option to "schedule restart", Maintenance schedules at a certain time but i didn't allow windows to wake up my pc for updates when the computer is turned off, .... Windows should auto-update with these settings, you agree? But it doesn't

Now i set the update option back to "Automatically (Recommend)" hoping that Windows won't refuse the auto-update!

So, today there was an update from Microsoft and my Computer woke up by itself to install the update. What the hell does Microsoft think themselves? When i set the auto update to "Automatically (Recommend)" it boots up the pc to installs the updates. But why does it not shutdown itself after doing this? When setting the update option to "Schedule a Restart" the auto update isn't executed at all. I can't believe this, Microsoft!!!!! I have to say that i own only a Home Edition. I've read that other licences provide more options when configuring Windows Updates. Maybe i should buy a Pro license as they aren't really expensive. But does Microsoft really need to hassle us users with this b***s***? Is there anybody else out there how is bothered by this faulty update behaviour of Windows 10?
