Do a system file check and see if any Integrity voilations are found
I ran the system file check and I got:

"Did not find any integrity violations" ---- what's next?

Odd.Then it hints it is a connection problem. Are you using any proxy or a 3rd party firewall?
Check the proxy by Control Panel>Internet Options>Connections>LAN settings and uncheck use a proxy server for your lan if it is checked. Also unblock URL's related to windows update if you are using a 3rd party firewall

The box "use of proxy server" is not checked.

If it makes any difference, the box marked "Automatic detect settings" is check in the section above that's called "Automatic Configuration".
