    PC Crashes on restart

Everytime I try to restart or shut down my PC, it always crashes on the shut down screen then I will have to force shut down by holding down the power button..
I'm running my OS on a SSD and it is 100% healthy, does anyone know any way to fix this?

I believe it could be an update that has made it like this, it started when I installed the KB31224200 update.

Before uninstalling that update do the following

Right click at Start button > click Command Prompt (Admin) > at the flashing prompt, copy/paste this.......

    sfc /scannow

    > press Enter.
    It will take quite sometime.
When finished, it will give you one of the 3 reports...............(paraphrasing)
    1. No integrity violation.
    2. Found corrupt files and repair successful.
    3. Found corrupt files but unable to repair.

If the report is #1, your solution lies elsewhere.
If the report is #2, check if your problems have been resolved.
If the report is #3, use this method................
In the same Command Prompt (Admin) windows, copy and paste this command ( please use copy and paste method in order to avoid typo )....................

    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    > press Enter.
Again it will take some time.
When finished, it will give you a report.

See if that has fixed your problem
If it does not then get back and we will help you uninstall the last update
See if it works ok then

    To htconem9user,
You are directly copying my script as if it is your own writing.
There is a word for that..... Plagiarism.
It is not hard to realize your deficiency in English language. Just didn't figure you would stoop so low and degrade yourself by copying someone's writings word for word in its entirety, and posted it as if it was your own. Pathetic.
It's ok to "borrow" someone's writing as a reply to the OP as long as you acknowledge the source and give credit to the author who wrote it. Failure to do is regarded as Plagiarism.
    SHAME on YOU !!!!
I am reporting you to the Moderators and the Administrator.

    To partian,
The ink below is what I replied to the OP a week or so ago:
Upgrade to 10 - Browsing Slow
You can see my reply there is IDENTICAL to the reply posted by the shameless plagiarizer in this thread.

I did a sfc /scannow and it says Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations, what can we do now?

    Suggestions :
    1. Do a Reset to your system:
Start button > Settings > Update & Security > left side, click Recovery >click Reset this PC.

    2. Do an in-place upgrade install, otherwise also known as repair Install.

It all depends how much time you have to troubleshoot the problem and how confident you are about investigating it. You could do a repair install which may fix it but there is always a risk it will happen again if you do not find the root cause.

If you are familiar with a clean boot you could do this and see if the PC will then shut down properly. If it does it indicates a process or service is causing the problem and you will need to try adding them back say 3 or 5 at a time to find out which one causes the problem to re-occur.

Well as I have clean installed three times now (two advised by Microsoft Support) for this exact issue, I am trying to steer away from it as it will only just happen again, I purchased an SSD to run my OS from to see if that was the issue, my HDD and SSD are both 100% healthy and no corrupt files are found..

    Hi partians,

I am not referring to a clean install. I was suggesting a clean boot which is quite a different approach.

Here is a procedure and the W8 instructions will work for W10.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

As I said before you can gradually introduce your various processes and services back into the boot process until you find what is causing the problem.

    Issue resolved:
I uninstalled an update (completely forgot to get the name of it) however it was affiliated with Windows Security.

    Sounds good...... for now.
Trouble is, Windows Updates are designed to be downloaded and installed automatically.
The one you have uninstalled will reappear and will get installed again.
What then ? You will be back to square one.
You need a permanent fix. Would you agree ?
