December update dd 2015/12/8 - Manually update request

    Hi,
I run again in problems with the a/m update. Pc freezes or restartq without updating, same as with the November updates (installed manually) Can I find the files to download for a manually update?
I have only the problem with the (ex) patch Tuesday updates the smaller updates are no problem and my PC is running well.

    I'm running windows 10 64 bit build 10240 on a Dell Inspiron

    Thanks!

    Kind regards

    Al

Bit confused.... you state you are running 10240. That is pre-RTM release. Current build is 10586.29. How can you be updating 10240 with updates for 10586?

    Hi f14tomcat,
    Thanks for your reply!
Oops I didn’t know the releases. Here my history: I did the upgrade via windows upgrade from 8.1 to 10 (no RTM)but run in the restart loop problem. But suddenly the update was OK and my PC was working well. I run again in problems with the November update (again the restart loop or screen freezes) I did a download from the files (linked in the Ten Forum) and installed the update manually. Pc works well and did downloads from the minor updates without problems daily. Now at the December updates I run again in the problems with the major updates. I never noticed that the release were not OK.

What do you suggest to do?

    Kind regards

If you don't mind putting back your progs you have installed, a "clean" install will fix a lot of ills. We could try other tricks, but probably quicker, and safer, to clean install. Many others have had issues going the Upgrade Path. This tutorial from here on the forum is a good guide. Backup your data first! Windows 10 - Clean Install - Windows 10 Forums Be patient, it may take an hour or so. Oh, and update your system specs here, it helps a lot when giving advice. Good luck!
