Update KB3114409 Withdrawn due to Outlook 2010 Problems

Microsoft have now withdrawn Update KB3114409 which has been causing Outlook 210 to start in Safe Mode - see http://www.infoworld.com/article/301...look-2010.html

I just uninstalled KB3114409. If MS withdrew it, does that mean it will not reinstall itself automatically? (I don't know how to "hide" an update to avoid that.)

Surely if Microsoft release KB3114409 again it will have been thoroughly tested and will work?

If not you, can uninstall it again and use this fix to hide it: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8...dows-10-a.html

I got my fingers burned by this poisonous update albeit on my older Windows 7 machine. Luckily my 10 has office 365. I think it's a total disgrace that MS clearly fail to test what they shunt down the pipe. And to then take 12 hours to pull the update defies logic. It's almost as if the guys at MS don't actually use their own products and realise the carnage they cause. Apple are just as bad pushing major bugs out. What are these software juggernauts doing? You probably find all the major MS guys have Linux on their personal computers, and the big wigs at Apple only use Android phones. I'm just amazed things get put out with such glaring bugs and clearly untested or they know about the bugs but just choose to flagrantly release anyway. This is all part of why I find aggressive updates so frustrating and stressful. Valuable hardware costing a lot of hard earned money at the mercy of MS and the Russian roulette of their software updates. if it ain't broke then don't go fixing it should be a mantra MS adopts!
