Where is Version 1511 (Threshold 2)
I apologize if this is a dumb question. I did a bunch of searching but didn't find an direct answer. I thought I was following all the Windows 10 news. But I am confused. I know Microsoft pulled the 1511 release but then put it back.
After being in the insider program on my Windows 10 test system, I saw that after 10586 (threshold 2) there were no new updates and it seemed ready for prime time. So about a week ago I upgraded my Windows 7 SP1 desktop system. The Microsoft app had been prompting me to update for months. The upgrade went smoothly and my desktop system is running almost perfectly.
My strategy was to wait until threshold 2 (SP1 sort of) was ready before commiting my desktop system to Windows 10. But recently, I noticed that WinVer was showing me on version 10240. What happened to 1511 or Threshold 2. I thought 1511 was what I was supposed to be downloading during the update. Windows update says I am up-to-date and won't update to 1511. After all of searches for an answer, I found lots of discussion about problems in 1511. Maybe I should count my blessings being on 10240.
Please explain what's going on here. Thanks for the help
