Did you first make sure the .cab file actually exists where it's supposed to and then run Command Prompt "as administrator"?
    Cool ..
    It works ...

Yes it is the best and you are right fully stable and one of several things I like I have been able to get rid of IE11.
There are some others but that is the main one.
Edge is so much better and improving all the time.
It also comes with a free retail installer good for the life of the computer: The Deal Of The Year

    Hi,

Although it's constantly improving I'd rather get rid of Edge than IE11. YMMV.

...Which one is to be believed. The Update History in Windows Update , or the View Installed Updates in Programs and Features.
The Update History in Windows Update will only show successful updates via WU. Since many did it via the cmd way, it will NOT show there but it WILL in Programs & Features - Installed Updates.

Big difference it seems, cause after the user does install this update using the cmd, and it reports back to the user that the command completed successfully, if the user then goes back to look for update screen, windows will finally tell the user, no new updates......
Only after a reboot in my case. I did the update using the command, went back to Windows Update and still showed as needing updating. Only after a reboot did WU show as all updated.

Although i use Chrome as my main browser i use IE11 as well. Edge isn't, IMO, as polished as IE11 and still slow and buggy in my experience.

I agree also...I use Google Chrome as my main browser, but Edge isn't in any way as polished as Internet explorer...which also has better features as well...I am starting to wonder if Edge will ever be ready for "prime time"....
