    Not activated.

Win 10 was activated. I installed a new motherboard and now it says not activated. Contacted support, might as well have been talking to a Martian, best answer I got was "Wait 48 hours". No problem with Win 7 on separate hard drive. Realized that I don't really need Win 10 and definitely won't be buying it.

Did you try to activate it with your W7 registration ?

Motherboard swap is the equivalent to installing it on/moving it to another PC. If you don't need Win 10 and definitely won't be buying it, just uninstall it/delete it. If you want to keep using it we can help. How was it originally activated? Was it an upgrade install? What build is it? If it's 10586 you should be able to activate it with your windows 7 key.

If you go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation > Product key and it says its activated with a Digital Entitlement you can now clean install and activate without entering a key. Just click skip when prompted to enter one.
