How to get away from Auto Updates from Win10

    You could prior to the fall update. Now it is no longer an option if your computer hibernates. If your computer hibernates, it will never boot. I think the OP has disabled hibernation so that might be a work around for him.

    @vickyg - thanks. I have not turned off H. I am still trying it out so going to stumble around W10

    Thanks to everyone who responded and thank you for your answers

    I connected my system to the Internet and even with the settings set, it installed a few updates. Actually around 8 or 9, mostly Windows Defender updates which is strange since I turned WD off prior to connecting it to the network. Oh well. Seems to be fine.

    You don't want to disable Windows Update. It's important to get them.

    I followed the excellent tutorial on this forum to set to notify me of updates. At least I can then choose the timing without work being interrupted.
