updates not downloading

    updates not downloading


    I have updated my laptop to windows 10 been using it for 2 months now , no updates have been downloaded when I check there are some in the box but it says under them waiting to download one says downloading but nothing is happening . Is there something I am not doing to get the downloads to work. I do have a internet connection would appreciate some help

    Sometimes it will show you nothing is happening but it actually is, just give it time and wait it out . While its doing that can you surf the web, if so ? Then you know at least you have the internet and from what you mention you do.

    Do you have the windows firewall on or off?

    Are you using a 3rd party firewall such as Norton Internet Security as the firewall?

    If you are then that was my problem. I turned on the Windows firewall instead and all my updates worked! My store apps had been stuck and I was able to update all 18 of them perfectly as well as the windows update that kept failing.

    Give that a shot!

    Spent about 3 days trying to figure out why I could not DL win updates, then was directed to tutorial Battery Saver - Turn On or Off in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums turned it off and DL's started working
