As already said in my previous post, download and run the show/hide tool. It searches for available updates and let you choose and hide any unwanted update. So next time you run Windows Update (or runs automatically) any hidden update will be ignored and not installed. Use the tool to hide any NVidia driver update. The same update will not be available again (unless you run the tool and enable it again), but you have to check frequently for a newer NVidia driver update and hide that also.

Also, it sounds like what you describe is correct: WU recognized that you already have the current or newer driver and has removed it from the offerings.

I have an old computer with a Realtek AC' 97 (not Hi Def) onboard audio card. Official Realtek driver causes BSOD, so I have successfully used the show/hide tool to block the relevant update and keep using the only working driver. Test passed! Never had to worry again about a BSOD no matter how frequently Window Update runs.

Agreed. I use that tool too.

My only point is that the Microsoft graphics driver is useful, if that was the driver in question.
I normally do not advise using WU to install any 3rd party drivers. I think it is much better to get them directly from the OEM.
Even better to know your system - what works and what doesn't - like you do.

Best method for installing drivers: Use a utility such as Aida64 to identify your devices and then download each driver from the manufacturer (OEM). This can be difficult for non-common devices.

Quick-lazy method: Use a utility such as Snappy Driver Installer or Driver Pack Solution to automatically detect and install any drivers for you. This sounds easy but it can lead to problems if the wrong driver is installed and causes BSOD. I use such utilities only for the hard-to-find drivers and only after I have manually installed the majority of drivers in a system.

Notebook warning: When using Snappy Driver or Driver Pack avoid installing the Synaptics driver because a wrong version can cause the touchpad to stop responding. If you do it, simply connect a mouse, uninstall the Synaptics software and restart.

I always install any newer official NVidia driver for my Geforce GT 620 and never Windows Update suggested another driver. Go ahead, don't worry!

OMG... after 2 upgraded of driver today afternoon i have, for third time, upgrade manually the nvidia driver.

I have make a full uninstall whit DDU and at restart i have reinstall manually the driver............... but look at here on Windows Update:

I have look inside SoftwareDistribution and there's inside Download folder apparently there's no files of this driver................. but the button "Install Now".

How i can hide this feature every time ? I know it's possibly to disable the driver upgrade... but i don't want to disable or i want to disable it only for nvidia driver......... it's possible ?

Don't panic! Just run the show/hide utility, check that update to hide it and never install.
