So got the serial from USB pen, put it in ShowKeyPlus, it says
Original Edition: Win 8.1 RTM CoreConnected OEM: DM

    What to do?

PS: Strange thing is that ShowKeyPlus says: OEM key not present in firmware

If the PC never shipped from the factory with Windows 8/8.1 or 10 pre installed, it won't have an embedded key. Installing Windows 8 or10 after the fact will not embed a key in the BIOS. That can only be done at the factory.

8.1 Core will get you 10 Home.

Yes, I am aware of that, I just supposed that Teclast (tablet brand) would have embedded the serial number in BIOS.

8.1 Core will get you 10 Home.
It does not seem so, I've tried installing windows 10 without success, moreover, googling "Windows 81. CoreConnected" seems to be Windows 8.1 with bing, as suspected.

OK, did that tablet ship with Windows 8/8.1 pre installed? If yes that is weird? Maybe CoreConnected is the With Bing edition or something? Post that info in the showkey thread and superfly should be able help you figure it out.

Saved serial number (taken with Belarc Advisory) from preinstalled (half chinese language) Windows 8.1 (don't know exactly the version, suspect Windows 8.1 with bing) on tablet
I wonder if that is the problem? Attempting to install English-US Windows 10 Home, if the original Windows 8.1 was 8.1 with Bing (we know that part) but the language was Chinese and just had an English language pack installed?

Yes, Core Connected means with Bing.

It is probably so, as I managed to change the language in italian (as I am from Italy) but some parts of Windows remained in chinese.
    Is this a problem?

I don't think its a problem. As far as I know the keys are version specific but not language specific. This USB Pen, did it come with the PC or bought separate? I'm getting confused now?

The Teclast X98 Air 3G (brand and model of my tablet) I got had Android KitKat + Windows 8.1 with Bing preinstalled (directly from factory).
With "stored in USB pen" I just mean that I saved a txt file with the serial number on a USB pen, nothing to shar with windows install :)

OK, I got you now. I thought it might have been an install thumb drive that came with it, of bought separately. Now I understand.

Looks like Core Connected is the With Bing edition. That's the info I'm getting from your post in the showkey thread. I would try to keep all your posts on this subject in this thread now if you can. Makes things easier if it's all in one place. What Kyhi suggested there I'm pretty sure you already tried. Install Home with skip entering a key and try entering your product code. Does the product code you pulled with Belarc advisor match what showkey is showing? If they don't use the one showkey shows and try typing that one in. Utilities like Belarc pull the key from the windows registry. That key doesn't always match the OEM BIOS key. The one to trust is the one showkey gives you.
