Windows 10 Update Will Not Load

When I launch the settings and go to Update, it loads forever instead of opening the options.

I have Googled to try to solve this issue but nothing has worked for me.

    I've tried running this diagnostic:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/gp/windows-update-issues/en-us
I've tried running these .bat files to reset Windows update: Windows Update - Reset - Windows 7 Help Forums

So far nothing has worked for me unfortunately. I am wondering if anyone here has any other ideas of what I could do to fix this problem?

Welcome to Ten Forums. Since resetting windows update did not work I would try the check the system file integrity. This is from the tutorial forum. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2...dows-10-a.html .

Thank you for your post. I performed this scan in the administrator elevated command line and saw no integrity check failures.

    Code:
    Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.10240]
    (c) 2015 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Sometimes you need to run it a few times. This note explains your options.

I ran into the same problem back with 8.1 after the Nov update. It took forever to fix, but it finally did.

Edit: the system restore might not be turned on this seems to be the default. So you might not have any restore points. Turn it on when the problem is fixed.

Thanks again for your help. Nothing worked for me except for doing a repair install of the OS. Kind of annoying it came to that but oh well, I am an early-ish adopter! Other than this Windows 10 has been great.
