Windows 10 free upgrade
Hi,
I read with interest your articles about windows 10 upgrade installation,I tried the link in the article to downloads windows 10 iso,but appears the link is leading to retail downloads site and the iso cannot be used to upgrade to windows 10,I then tried downloaded the media creation tools but it did not run in my windows 7 OS,I then manage to find an option to upgrade to windows 10 as an update option,I opted this and windows 10 free upgrade started and completed successfully,I tried the media creation tools they, they run in windows 10 os so I downloaded the windows 10 iso, this has built in key but this key cannot be used for activation, windows 10 become activated as part of the free upgrade from Microsoft, this downloaded iso file I used to do standalone installation of windows 10,the installation run successfully by choosing skip enter product key but windows 10 cannot activate with this key, though installed on same PC that runs the free upgrade, your article said that win10 will recognizes the hardware and automatically become activated, but this did not happens.
In the article about dual boot windows 10,according to Microsoft advice is to have the older version os installed first,in this case would be windows 7,then after making new partition windows 10 can be installed as standalone installation but it cannot be activated free unless installed as an upgrade to windows 7 that was active.
Thank you.
