So our future with Windows10 will be primarily fixing problems caused by so-called "updates", along with asking forums, friends and reading crystal balls to find out what has changed? (i.e. I noticed yesterday that Microsoft's automated online "Fix-Its" don't exist for Windows10.) They helped a lot with Windows7 issues.

Hopefully the pendulum will swing back the other way for Windows11..or whatever it will be called.

As the saying goes, a bug is a feature, a feature is a bug. If they didn't cause new problems, they would not have anything to fix or improve on and would have been out of business!

The fact is, there will be no Windows 11...
In their plans, Windows 10 will be the last Windows version, after that there only will be updates like Apple does.
    YEY!

By the way, after the last cumulative update, now live tiles don't update themselves properly, and I still see there is some email unread even if I read hours ago.

Hey XweAponX - great, that's the first clear and positive info about this update. I've never used edge (Chrome for me) and Cortana is completely deactivated. I'm wondering if I should revive her and get to know her. Is she really useful in the new form? Other posts all over the net mention various things breaking. I'm fine though. I don't know if it's placebo, but both my W10 PCs seem faster now!?! But they were blazingly fast anyway. Probably placebo. HeHe.

Any how, I am happy until the next botched update job.
Yah i think cortana is a lot more useful now. I have a mike set up next to my kb, all it needs is a "hey siri/ok google" way of activating it.

I had to stop using chrome altogether, it was just gobbling up 3/4 of my available ram, and i only have 2 gigs of that on this machine. After this update, the resources are being used more frugally.

Thanks for the tip on Cortana XweAponX. You're right that Chrome is a resource hog since I have 49 tabs opened and with 16GB, it used to really lag the system, but with 24GB, it's better but my system managed swap partition is less than 4GB in size now.

On another note, I have not rebooted or anything but the weather and store live tiles started working on it's own within the past few hours, not sure if anything was auto updated or not.

If you keep Chrome down to 10 -20 tabs ( better at 10 ) tabs or so on 8 GB ram it's fine most of the time but it will use all the ram you have or like you say 3/4 of it if you open enough tabs thats no lie it likes memory because each tab is a separtate ruuning process .

The advantages are more security and when a tab crashes it doesent take down the whole browser unless Chrome itself crashes . OTOH F/F is not all that secure by todays standards ,Edge is slow and unstable IE 11 is somewhere in between but more reliable than Edge .

You can run chrome as a single task too but haven't tried it. As for the tabs, I keep opening new things up that when I get to it, I will just close it after I finish with that tab.

sure one tab = 1 task or process unless you are talking about something else ☻

Otherwise you can manage open tabs nobody outside of devlopers or ADD folks probably needs 30 tabs open anyway , you can use the history tab > refresh open historty page tab as needed ( shift +F5) and things like that to go to something you had open or the hard way with bookmarks ☻☻.
