Looks like this CU is a big mess of an update... lets hope someone can help us get it installed... I have tried all the above and it wont install... losing my head over this one.. last time i needed something like this was provided with i think it was a [.MSU] file and all i did was double click it and it installed the update?

Lets hope that we get that type soon... i can get this .CAB to work....

Hmm .... Sorry but I have not tested this update. It looks like it's almost identical problems as the last cumulative update!

    EDIT:

    But you are not alone:

Thank you for that. It makes me feel better that I am not alone with this issue. I thought it was my pc. I guess we'll just have to wait for the gods at MS to get their act together and post a fix or a proper installable downloadable installer version so that the users that don't get the update to work within Windows update can have it installed by manually doing it. No problems installing it

However, after installing it my Event Viewer and Reliability History where flooded with constant messages about Windows Shell Experience Host has stopped working

I used Power Shell to re register the apps and so far that seems to have cured it

Not noticed any changes so far apart from that

I needed 2 restarts to finish ( all happens without my control ). Win 10 has found a good excuse too install and restart "System Exception Error". Happened during playing PC game.

The same here. After 5 - 8 min. one restart and finished.

Failed on 2 very different PC's via WU this morning - So I used the CAB installer & it failed at 100% (thanks for that program BTW) So will have to see if there are alternative fixes come along, the one thing is I'm not alone. :)

May be better to wait until this CU is fixed.

Wow after reading all the various problems people are having I'm glad I couldn't install it. For so many people with different setups getting errors it seem like the CU is botched. In addition, to those who did install it a lot had to use various tricks etc. This is not how MS update is mean't to work!!

If updates are forced, they should at least solve problems, or add better security, anything positive. Instead these forced updates are causing a lot of people problems.

I often have a tendency to blame my own PC for any problems. But recently, and especially when MS is involved I google before getting into a panic.

This is bad Microsoft. Test updates properly, especially big ones like this before releasing. And then having the nerve to force most updates. Sheesh!

Sorry guys, I know this has all been said before. This is specific to the current CU, KB3093266.

Tested on two laptops: it installed without problems on a Dell, but on my Asus it keeps failing. I'm downloading the cab files now (THANK YOU!), but since other users have failed in this way too, I think I will wait.
Thank you Microsoft for making the updates mandatory and unavoidable!
