    Interesting Aspect to Win10 updates

My wife has a Toshiba Satellite Notebook about 2 years old. She has been getting a message about a failed update and I found it was for an Elan Input Device and the update for it would never complete, about 6 times. The solution was quite simple once I got it figured out what the device is. She turns off the Touchpad when typing or her thumbs cause errors. I simply turned the Touchpad [device] back on and the update installed in about 5 minutes. Moral: make sure the onboard/built-in devices are available.

I have an ELAN device as well and I had enabled the "ignore unintended touches" option as well. For me the update installed.

BUT, afterwards, the driver options had been reset to factory defaults: That "unintended touches" option had again been switched off and also other options, which I had set, had been reset. I had to change them again manually.

Ah, yea, I remember something I had in the past was like that, if it's not available for whatever reason, the software/update won't install, because to the system, it's not physically there.
