    Windows Update error 0x80004005 for KB3087040!!!


    Hallo. Today i tried to install an update (KB3087040) a security update for Internet Explorer Flash Player and it cant install due to that error message 0x80004005!
    What is happening! Is it critical?

    Same problem here. It seems like it installed fine on my wife's computer though. At least I'm not alone here, hopefully we can resolve this.

    i too have the same issue - i have also noticed that internet explorer has become infuriatingly slow - is this connected to the update issue? Also, sometimes Microsoft Edge won't appear on the screen even though the process is running.................

    Same problem here... Microsoft Tech Support recommended a PC refresh, which I won't do now that I see so many other people having the same problem.
