    Windows update stuck at 45%

Hey everyone!! So far no real issue's to report running Windows 10 I really love it but here is my issue. Windows update has been stuck at 45% for the last 3 hour's and usually my updates go pretty quick. I've tried rebooting my system to see if the updates will finish installing but then it goes right back to 45% and stay's there. Any idea's as to what may of happened?

First I ran the Microsoft tool that found corrupted registry files by following this link..

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2700567

Than I ran into a issue installing update KB3081444 and followed the instructions following this link

This thread was from September last year not this year so the links are for a very old patch.

If you are having a problem with KB3189866 (seems quite common at the moment) then you could get it from here (using Internet Explorer only)

Seems a recurring problem with Cumulative Updates and others have reported success with the old fix. However, I'm with you, the manual install is the better solution. For a start the old one deletes you Update History!

IE11 (mandatory for using the Update Catalog) has a problem in 1607 though. If you've previously used the Update Catalog it will work fine, but if this is your first visit it will say 'unsuported browser' and that you need IE 6.0 or above. To bypass this problem, go straight to the MSUC's download page (using any other browser but IE) using the links shown here...
Finally solved the stuck at 45% KB3189866 problem
