Oh god, haven't been here for a while...
@Emrick Can you post a Task Manager screenshot?
@viju Update Windows 10 to version 14393 (1611) and try that again.

@viju Update Windows 10 to version 14393 (1611) and try that again.
My version of Windows is :Windows 10 Pro Version1511,O.S. Built 10586.71

    I have been prompted to install updates;Cumulative updates 1516 x 64 based system(KB3210721)
    and Anniversary updates.

I had tried several times by windows updates but failed. Then I downloaded the file (about1.035 GB) of1516 x 64 based system(KB3210721) and tried to installed but failed.

Then tried upgrade to anniversary version using media creation tool but failed again. Then I tried to remove error as suggested by you but failed (Screen shot sent to you in my last post.)
Now you have suggested me to upgrade to Update Windows 10 to version 14393 (1611) and try that again.I believe version 14393 (1611) is a server version.Kindly let me know the reason.

14393 is the Redstone 1 update, it's not for Server 2016, it's for Windows 10.

@viju WSReset.exe was supposed to clean the Windows Store cache, but now it just opens Windows Store.

What antivirus are you using? Also update your system specs.

    Windows 10 update error

I am using AVG and windows defender.I have updated my system specs.

I have purchased my laptop from my employer when I retired. It has MS Office Pro plus 2013.It is under volume license. It has now expired.Though it works ok,I keep on getting message to activate.
Could this be a cause for getting update error?

Well, at least I never heard of Office breaking a Windows upgrade.
AVG and Norton are the two antiviruses that need to be uninstalled to proceed with the upgrade.
Or try running Media Creation Tool and upgrading from there.
