Every time I check for windows update and or try to manual start windows update service i get the following errors in event veiwer

The server {E60687F7-01A1-40AA-86AC-DB1CBF673334} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

The Windows Update service terminated with the following error:

I also have the same problem on my Windows 10 Pro. Protector's solution didn't help me as well.
I can't download neither Windows Updates nor Store apps updates.

First try running sfc /scannow and post the screenshot with the snipping tool.

It was stuck, because you didn't wait until it ended. DISM normally requires 30min to 2hours.

Hi, I have the same error that Windows Update just hangs (or gives the error code 0x80080005) I can't access the Store or Xbox, and the mail client has stopped connecting to gmail etc.

All was working fine but seems to have stopped around September 10th (that's the last time gmail synced)

I've tried this taken from googling:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth hit enter after the proces termine type this DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth hit enter after that type this Sfc /Scannow

This didn't work. Each of the 3 commands reported no issues.

    Any further advice greatly received.

You can always try Protector's solution...

press WindowsKey+R, type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
Click "Computer Configuration", click "Administrative Templates", click "System", and then double-click the "Specify settings for optional component installation and component repair" setting.
Select "Enabled", click check box for "Contact Windows Update directly...." - apply and OK

Type CMD in Search. Right click on it to run as an administrator. (You can also right-click on the start button and select "Command Prompt (Admin)")
Type the following 5 commands at the CMD prompt:

    >WSReset.exe (go back to the cmd screen and press ctrl-c to get the prompt back)
    >dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    >dism /online /cleanup-image /StartComponentCleanup
    >sfc /scannow
    >powershell
    >Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    Close the CMD window.
Check to see if the issue is resolved. If not, restart the PC.

Also, what update gives you this error?
