    0x80070643 Issue

    Running 22H2 19045.4355

I am getting this error on Security Updates only. From what I can tell under update history everything else is working. The only thing I have performed to try to help with this is sfc /scannow . It shows that it found and corrected problems but it didn't help with this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That error is caused by this update failing to install.
Microsoft's solution at the following link...

    KB5034441 Security Update for Windows 10 (21H2 and 22H2) - Jan. 9

    Short version...

MS released KB5034441 to address a security vulnerability in the Recovery Partition.
Unfortunately, the Recovery Partition wasn't big enough (on most people's comps), to be able to install that update.

Just stupid, insufficient testing by Microsoft.

If your Windows drive looks like this... Recovery partition right after the Windows partition... all you have to do is increase the size of the Recovery partition to 1000MB, and install KB5034441 again.

    1. Get Minitool Partition Wizard, here: Best Free Partition Manager for Windows | MiniTool Partition Wizard Free

    2. Shrink the Windows partition by 500MB.
    3. Resize the Recovery partition to consume that extra 500MB.
    4. Check for Windows Updates.

Note that if you don't use bitlocker, the update is irrelevant. Thus, if, for example, you've chosen to delete the Recovery partition, or your Recovery partition is functional and you don't want to be bothered, simply hide this update.

WUmgr (free) is one convenient tool that lets you do that amongst other things.

Thought- is your Recovery partition functional?
    Check using
    reagentc /info
    from an admin command prompt.

Note: as you've not provided evidence (Update History e.g.) as to which update is failing- the assumption that it's the one Ghot mentioned is based on likely probability based on the error number.

(researching the update and error number is one easy way to find relevant info).

That update is important and not irrelvant at all. It is your best friend and it shows you that your Recovery Partition is too small!

Try to run an Inplacement on a disk with a free space of just 10 GB. It definitely fails and nobody complains about that.

When your Recovery Partition is too small all other SafeOS updates also fail. But you don't get an error message! KB5034441 gives that error message.

But some people just don't believe it

Thank you so much guys! All is working like it's supposed to again. It's been a long time since I have ever had any issues with W10.
