Installation of KB5034441 on 22H2 fails with error 0x80070643

    Hi
I have upgraded this customer PC to windows10 22H2 today.
However one upgrade is missing when checking for upgrades - KB5034441. This upgrade fails constantly with error 0x80070643.
    Scenario:
    1. Check for updates - KB5034441 is missing
    2. Installation of patch is seen for a few seconds and then error 0x80070643 comes.

Any suggestions other than in place upgrade?

Update 240423: Just talked to MS support and they confirmed this to be a known issue in KB5034441, which will be fixed in a coming update. Also they mentioned that KB5034441 is not mandatory.

    run cmd (admin)

    reg query HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control /v FirmwareBootDevice
    reagentc /info
    bcdedit

What is on "Lenovo Recovery" (Q:)? If that is that old Lenovo WIN 7 delivery stuff, you should delete that partition immediately.

    post the result
    also:
    diskpart
    sel disk 0
    list par
    exit

THX. The result of the bcdedit command is missing. I just want to be sure.
Is exactly that what I expexted. If you press the wrong <Fn> Key you are back in year 2012! Nice, isn't it?
It is possible that there is still the WIN7 winre.wim on the system. But we fix that also.

    run cmd (admin) and type
    bcdedit
post that result takes just 2 minutes!

instead of diskpart you type bcdedit.

No backup necessary. Win 10 is untouched!

Important that you use copy &paste

after each command wait for the system response

In 5 minutes you are ready!
