I am back to my former problems... and this time the U[date on startup doesn't run.... so it is very hard something to do on this computer now...

It started: suddenly I was not able to create a New FOLDER, in whatever directory... only with Obsidian or Command Line mkdir...
I was just making a folder fine, doing Github pull, and then this started...

    I decided to Restart computer....

Then started all my old problems.... very slow and hard start, loading Task Bar 5 minutes, memory full, etc...

Updates not starting on reboot, not saving me this time.... Restore Point vanished... now I think it may be because Disk Cleaner is often switching ON, I am killing it here and there in Task Manager, but still...

Your provided Update.bat did not recover my Update services, and here is the report from CMD:

    Code:
The BITS service is not started.

More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3521.

    Checking the bits service status.

The wuauserv service is not started.

    I need some help....

Which of the suggestions already made have you attempted?

Please review the thread, then provide a numbered list of all, saying for each whether you have attempted it.

Note: if you have in fact interrupted an update in progress it is unclear whether you can recover your O/S as is.

This is why the routine and regular use of 3rd party disk imaging - endlessly recommended here- is really important- it can save so much time.

    Thanks.

I don't think I "interrupted an update", because my Windows Updates were Disabled at that point, and my Computer was Waking up from SLEEP, and there had not be updates at that point...

and why my Computer was running well again after an accidental Update after Reboot for 3 days?!

I have Tried your Update.bat file.... with the report in my previous post....

One person gave me an article about disabling / enabling WousMedic service through changing values in Registry - I checked my values were for Enabled...

I didn't try anything much, because after my previous problems my Computer was working very good, until today the problems again started after suddenly stopped the folder creation and I restarted computer (no interruption whatever)...

p.s. Isn't there some Command Line option to call up Updates or an option to Download from Internet some Image?!

Or would I find an Windows 10 image on the internet, would it make me problems to register / authorize it?! But this windows 10 was pre-built on my laptop...

I can see Module Installer Worker process sometimes active in my Task Manager, but never Update process

My post #2 - I suggested an in-place upgrade repair install - which keeps all progs and data - however that will require that the O/S is intact enough to run it. I'm not sure yours is.

No harm in trying though. Tutorial available in the searchable Tutorials section.

You need to download an iso file of the same major build as you have now as per the tutorial and linked tutorial.

Once you have the iso file, it's 4 steps to start the in-place upgrade repair attempt.

would it make me problems to register / authorize it?
If you mean 'would there be any problems regarding activation?' - No- once a PC has digital rights recorded on MS's activation servers against a hash of a form of the device's hardware id, then you can clean install Windows as many time as you want.

Again- had you been using 3rd party disk imaging, you could have restored a disk image before this happened - routine- and had your O/S - and everything on the Windows partition - back as it was exactly as it was when you created the image.

Lots of time saved- please start using that as soon as you can when you next have a working O/S.

Somehow out of sudden today my laptop Windows 10 loaded *almost fine.... still, the Task Bar was loading 2 minutes & No Folder creation, but no high CPU & memory overload...

Then I started to Search Google - why I can not create folders.... only through Command Line mkdir....

    and I found this: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...3-9a40365c9bd1

    It said:
Open Regedit, find HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder , double-click (default) and set its data to Folder...

I went to that path... and the Default value there was: default : php_auto_file

I changed it to Folder, now it works.....

I have no idea who changed that to php_auto_file.... It was not me, for sure.... probably some other process or app.... I was recently updating PHP version on my computer to 8.2, may be from that or something else....

I am yet to see if the other problems (with Task Bar loading) are also related to this...
