no problem ghot at this time the hub is showing 1000 speed if the left light is on it is 10 if the other light is on it is 100 if both lights are on it is 1000. or 1 mbps.

now i'm at 88% for the reset. and yes both lights are aon. when it reboots i will see if it goes back to the left light or 10 mbps. if it does then i may have a bad driver and will have to go looking for a good driver. thanks

Since it's only a problem on one computer... that pretty much limits the cause to the driver, a setting or the wireless chip on the motherboard.

You might want to try turning OFF the other computers in your home, and see if that affects the speed on the problem computer.
If it does, then you'll know that your wireless speed is being "shared" by all the computers.

that is what i think but i'm leaning on the drivers as now the reset is done and both lights are still on. i just shut it down with the app screen power button and it reverted back to the 10 mbps. but i now have to load chrome and a few apps and will see if anything changes. the first think i will do is research wifi drivers. thanks

Why are you updating to 22H2 which is pretty much end of life?

    You should be installing 23H2.

The OP is trying to upgrade to Win 11.
Or trying to get to 22H2 then upgrade to Win 11.
    It's a complicated topic.

either way, download 23h2 iso, mount it and run setup.exe to go to 23H2 in one go?

You're gonna have to read through the topic.
We've been there and back and there again... etc.
    Like I said... it's complicated.

thanks but i first need to get the lan to work. when i did the reset the lan ran at 1000 now it is back to 10. the pc is capable to run at 1000. the only reason i'm going thru all of this is i just got fiber installed and when i first pick up that pc in the family room and log on it is at 20 mbps. after i mess with it for a bit i get over 200 mbps it then stays there all night and again in the morning it is back to 20. now if i can get over 200 after logging on and off the router a few times that is telling me the pc can do it. so then i bring that pc into the kitchen and plug it into the network hub and it goes to 90 mbps. but during the reset it was installing the program at 1000 so again it is capable. for some reason i'm getting a wifi driver that is not working very well.

so the ryzen drivers package did not install that install told me windows prevented it. and it reverted back to windows drivers. so now i'm letting hp scan the pc to find any drivers i may need to reinstall. i have turned off adp and ublock to see if that was the issue.

ok guys i did the reset installed the latest driver and it is still the same. when win11 shows up again to install i will install it. maybe then it will grab a good driver and allow that pc to run at a better speed. if not i will just live with it,. thanks for all the help

Have you checked to see there are any other networks on the same channel they may vary through the day. Anything between router and you like TV,game consoles, microwave for lan what does properties show for network card is running simplex or duplex as duplex often slows it to crawl as it sends data both ways and home routers can't cope. You won get 500 dues to windows QOS running at MTU fault would cause it try a MTU test
