Ok I think the easy way to get KB5034441 is to download and run MediaCreationTool22H2 choose update this PC and keep all files and apps. When it's done then run windows update and bam you got all of them. Just did all 4 of my PC's all work great no loss of anything.
I tried this and it worked.

I was going to resize the partition manually but for some reason, I did not have the recovery partition. I was not going to shrink and add another partition due to a bad experience before.

Following Guzzi's instruction, it took about 45 minutes to let windows do its thing. It created the partition on its own. Had to let it do a couple of updates after and kb5034441 was installed. Its probably the slowest way but the best way for the inexperienced, like me. No mistakes and all my settings stayed the same.

I do online banking on my pc. They all say to make sure you have the latest update. So now I do. Big thanks to Guzzi

    End result:

You can ignore disks 2 and 3.

On disk 1 it's the 583MB partition that needs to be enlarged.

Right-click the C: partition, select Move/Resize and make it 300MB smaller. You will need to click beside "GB" and select "MB". Do NOT click Apply at this point.

The "Unallocated Space After" should show 300MB. It should look like this:
    Attachment 406534

Click OK and then right-click the 583MB partition and select Move/Resize. It should look like this:
    Attachment 406535

Move the slider over to use all of the available 300MB and it should look like this:
    Attachment 406536

    Click OK.

Note that I already enlarged my Recovery partition, so my example shows a change from 949MB to 1249MB.

At this point, everything is just a preview of what will be changed.

When you're sure you've got it right, then click "Apply".

    Welcome to Ten Forums.

Yes, it's easy to fix when you know how. Far better than waiting for Microsoft to fix it (if they ever will).

    resize Recovery Partition

    1. Disable UAC (User Account Control) completely - first from Control Panel

    2. From Registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Policies > System
Double click on EnableLUA, verify if value is 0; if not, change it to 0

    3. Restart

    4. Create a Notepad file and save as clearupdatehistory.bat - works with windows 10/11

    @echo off

powershell -windowstyle hidden -command "Start-Process cmd -ArgumentList '/s,/c,net stop usosvc & net stop wuauserv & del %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\Logs\edb.log & del /f /q C:\ProgramData\USOPrivate\UpdateStore\* & net start usosvc & net start wuauserv & UsoClient.exe RefreshSettings' -Verb runAs"

    must contain the above lines
after this file was created right click and run it as administrator, it will delete/clear Windows Update History

    5. Resize C: partition using Disk Management from windows 10/11, right click on start button

    6. Download and install MiniTool Partition Wizard latest version from official website and install the free home edition not pro trial

    7. Open MiniTool, select Recovery Partition marked with *: and on the left side menu you will see a sub-menu called Change Partition, underneath there's another option called Extend Partition, click on it and select the unallocated space that you created on step 5.

    8. Restart

I followed LesFerch's instructions and worked for me - Thank you

Also just registered to say a big THANK YOU too. This was driving me crazy for months.

One thing I would note about MiniTool Partition Wizard, and where I think @benherrmann was getting stuck: when in the Move/Resize dialog, the horizontal bar/slider is not clickable. The little < and > arrows on each end also don't respond to simple clicks. You need to click-and-drag the arrows when the cursor becomes a <-||-> symbol. Quirky interface, isn't clear. You did address it in a follow-up post however.

Welcome to the forum! Good point about the interface. It is indeed a bit quirky.

    @Pentagon
I was going to try the info you posted to get the update installed, but I dont think the commands would be the same, correct? My hard drive only has 3 partitions total (100mb EFI System, 2800gb NTFS C:, and 505mb Recovery Partition)
    Please help!
    Thank you from the USA!

This is the info you had suggested:
You only have to know how to run "Command Prompt" as Administrator.
    when you see this:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32>
you are on the right way.

Then copy the following commands and paste into command prompt:
    step by step
    reagentc /disable
    diskpart
    sel disk 0
    sel par 5
    delete partition override
    sel par 4
    extend
    shrink minimum=1024
    create partition primary
    format quick fs=ntfs label="Recovery"
    set id="de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac"
    gpt attributes=0x8000000000000001
    exit
    reagentc /enable

The update will be installed successfully!

    Welcome to Ten Forums.

Your drive actually has 4 partitions, there's a hidden 16MB MSR partition between the EFI partition and the C: partition that doesn't show in Disk Management.

After starting Diskpart and selecting disk 0, type the command list partition to find the correct partition numbers to use in the subsequent commands. In my case (and probably yours) the Recovery partition (the one to be deleted then recreated later) is partition 4 and the C: partition (the one to extend then shrink) is partition 3.

After 3 months since KB5034441 was released, it still won't install-image.png

As you can see, my Recovery partition is already large enough.

    @Bree
    Heres what I found, below.
I thought 505mb was "large enough" but maybe thats not correct? I am also worried that my offset is 2794gb on recovery partition 4??
